Boys & Girls grades 1 and up
The Gymnastics BC Interclub program is a Gymnastics For All (GFA) program designed to expand the scope of recreational gymnastics participation in BC. Interclub provides a training framework and offers opportunities for both male and female athletes to attend sanctioned events, at which they perform gymnastics routines to showcase personal ability.
Designed for all abilities, Interclub does not require a minimum or maximum skill level to participate. The program focuses on the opportunity for gymnasts to perform and take pride in personal achievement. Athletes are encouraged to work hard to achieve their best through positive reinforcement and praise. Athletes and coaches have creative license in routine development and performances.
Interclub athletes will have the opportunity to compete in 3-4 local meets, performing on Men’s or Women’s Artistic Gymnastics apparatus. There are 2 Interclub categories that athletes will be placed into based on age & ability:
- PERFORMANCE CATEGORY: Athletes perform routines and are given positive feedback on each event in the form of a certificate of achievement. Athletes train 3 hours per week.
PERFORMANCE PLUS CATEGORY (optional for athletes 9 years old and up): Athletes perform routines and are given a score and awarded a gold, silver, or bronze ribbon based on their performance on each apparatus. Athletes train 3-6 hours per week.
