For the club to remain eligible for grant funding that is essential to our operations, we require a minimum of 20 voting members in attendance (twice the size of our board). If you or your child participated in any of our programs over the past year, you are considered a voting member.
Why your attendance matters:
Granting bodies look favourably on non-profits with strong community engagement. The more members who attend, the stronger our case for continued funding and the stronger our organization becomes.
During the AGM, the voting members will elect the following positions:
- President
- Vice-President
- Treasurer
- Secretary
- Director at Large (up to 4 positions available)
The board cannot operate without the executive positions (President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Secretary). Without these positions, the Society will have to dissolve.
You do not need to be a current member or have a child in our programs to be eligible for nomination. Self-nominations are welcome. If you are interested, please complete the nomination form and return it to our office. Forms will also be available at the AGM. If necessary, board voting will be conducted by secret ballot.
At this AGM, we will also be voting to adopt a new name for our society and an updated constitution.
Text of Special Resolution:
Motion 1: That the Constitution of the Society be amended to delete the name “Terrace Peaks Gymnastics Club” and replace it with “Summit Sports Centre”, so the Constitution reads as follows:
