Terrace Peaks Fundraising FAQs

Like most gymnastics organizations in Canada, Terrace Peaks Gymnastics Club is a non-profit society and fundraising is an important source of income. We include fundraising as a part of our strategy for maintaining affordable programs and being a financially sustainable organization.

Fundraising helps our club with:

  • Operations: Funds are used to benefit all members by meeting expenses in the annual operating budget in order to maintain affordable programming.
  • Capital Costs: Equipment purchases, upgrades, expansions, improvements, etc. all fall under this category. The recent purchase of a new floor and beam mats are examples of fundraising dollars being utilized to improve our gym and make it better for our athletes.
  • Athlete Travel: Last season, select members of our competitive team travelled to Hawaii to compete with athletes from around the world. It was the first time Terrace Peaks gymnasts were invited to an international meet. Opportunities like this help bring recognition to our club and improves our ability to recruit coaches, secure sponsors, and obtain grants.

Some of the fundraising we do includes:

  • Raffles
  • Local Sponsorships
  • Catalogue Sales (Purdy’s Chocolatier, Mom’s Pantry, etc.)
  • Leotard Sales
  • Bottle Drives
  • Grants*

*Some of the grants the club qualifies for are called “Matching-Grants” which require the club to fundraise the same amount they are applying for.
